Jacob Naylor
Bio
Jake started his career in the legal world as a summer intern at the Public Defender's Office where after law school he became an attorney in the trial and appeals divisions. Jake left the office to serve as law clerk to a Judge in the Family Division here in Allegheny County, and simultaneously started a private practice. His practice focuses on appellate and post-conviction matters and complex litigation. Jake has served as post-conviction counsel in capital cases in both state and Federal Court, and has tried matters to verdict before juries here in Allegheny County and in the Western District of Pennsylvania. He has planned and delivered CLEs on various criminal law topics. Jake serves his community as a firefighter in Whitehall Borough and as a rescue specialist on the South Hills Area technical rescue team. In both capacities he focuses on training first responders.

Jake is a go-to resource of academic knowledge and legal strategy for lawyers throughout Western Pennsylvania. Jake’s unique combination of experience training both lawyers and first responders is a critical asset for ALIJ’s evidence-based training program.
