Achieving Better Outcomes Through Diversion Programs and Social Service Connections

The next training session in the ALIJ Court-Appointed Counsel Training and Support Program is on November 21, 2025 at 11:30 AM in Judge Satler’s courtroom at the Allegheny County Courthouse.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • The benefits for clients: improved case outcomes, mitigating risk, and reducing recidivism

  • Existing diversion programs

  • ‘Self-created’ diversion

  • Understand the options at the preliminary hearing vs. trial-level

  • Facilitating service and resource connections

  • Resources ALIJ offers to help

Expected speakers include Judge Matthew V. Rudzki, Casey Mullen, Allie Podlogar (ALIJ social services advocate), Jake Wyland, and others.
